Pleasant Surprise

Top: Gap
Bag: Lulus (great deal here)
Shoes: Steve Madden (similar here)
Necklace: BCBG (love this one)
Sunnies: YSL

Finding these jeans was the most pleasant surprise I have had in a very long time. I walked into Target looking for "nothing" but toothpaste and walked out with some of the softest, most comfortable, flattering jeans I've ever owned, there are on point with the printed denim trend and the price made them a no-brainer. The mint leopard print is what really caught my eye but I was over the moon when I tried them on, its always a great moment when you find good quality on trend steals!

Its beginning to feel like fall on this side of the world... I love this skirt because it reminds me of a trench coat. I've been looking forward to dressing up for fall and it seems like I will finally get my big chance!

Happy Monday btw!!!!

Busy Life

Dress: H&M
Shoes: Steve Madden

This was a two minute shoot, literally. How do you ladies do it? Staying on point with fashion is a priority that has steadily climbed down in my daily to-do-list; don't get me wrong I love clothes and cant imagine my life without my shoe collection BUT I love my family even more and juggling life's responsibilities including children often reduces "ME TIME" to nothing. I strongly believe that beauty isn't skin deep but one can not deny the value of the confidence that comes from feeling pretty and put together. So how do you juggle life's busy schedule and still manage to keep your fancy schmancy style intact? Please share...

Season vs Weather

Skirt: Anthropologie (similar here)
Sunnies: F21 (similar here)
Necklaces: local artist

Lately my dilemma has been whether I should dress according to the season hence darker palette, layers, etc OR put outfits together according to the weather - light fabrics, shorts and why not brights? So Cal has been insanely hot and getting hotter!!! Its October for crying out loud and at the rate we are going I'll be trick or treating in a bathing suit. So I guess the question is does season override weather or is it the other way around? Luckily, after digging in my closet I "found"this skirt that in my opinion is a perfect compromise; the color is definitely fall but the cut and texture is perfect for the heat.

Architecture & Reflection

Skirt: H&M (similar here)
Cardigan: Asos
Shoes: Calvin Klein (similar here)
Shades: Urban Outfitters (similar here)
Gold & Onyx Ring: Custom made (love this one, similar here)

While marveling these somewhat old structures with exquisite architecture I began to wonder about the people who have walked here before me; what was going through their mind as they sat still in this soothing garden? There is a special aura about this place, I felt at peace and calm... Right after these pictures were taken, a couple of busy bees began setting up for  a wedding. Watching them drape chiffon on some pillars answered my question; I'm sure most people have had some moments of reflection in this space but the fact that some couples have taken their vows here (which I'm sure has happened many times throughout the years) definitely adds to the charm of this place, its almost like people leave a bit of themselves, their love and hopes behind for others to enjoy.

USS Midway

Jeans: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Zara (similar here)

Visiting the USS Midway was somewhat of an emotional experience, what I got to see and hear was nothing short of amazing. The USS Midway is literally a floating city symbolic of 50 years of history, on board are amazing aircrafts (most used during WWII) which we got to take a close look at. Having the opportunity to speak to some veterans in their 90s I must add; was a very humbling experience. The bravery and humility that these men have displayed throughout their lives by is truly inspiring.

Mint Latte

Dress: F21 (similar here)
Shoes: Steve Madden (similar here)
Bag: Anthropologie (great options herehere and here)
Hat: Asos (similar here)
Bracelets: J Crew, Nordstrom, F21(similar herehere and here)

Polka dot on polka dot print is a great look, you can make this trend work by contrasting the palette or the actual size of the polka dots. I had been looking for a polka dot bag and after searching high and low I discovered this one at Anthro its small and sweet.

I love these layering bracelets, the colors are so soft, right now you can find friendship bracelets just about anywhere. Speaking of layering bracelets, there is a great giveaway going on right now from one of my favorite blogs  - Pink Peonies, the must have Stella and Dot - Renegade Cluster Bracelet is up for grabs, entry rules here.

Warm Fall

Blazer: Zara (love this one)
Bag: Michael Kors (similar here)
Shoes: Steve Madden (similar here)
Sunnies: YSL (no longer available, similar here)

Though it is officially fall, SoCal continues to be extremely hot and we expected to get worse! This layered ensemble is weather appropriate, both the blazer and dress are cotton and very lightweight. Though I am happy to have a good tan, I'm ready for the sun to go on vacay.

This skirt is so fabulous; the unique palette and abstract print make feel like I am wearing a piece of art. The cut absolute perfection! Its high waisted and flowy therefore feminine and comfortable. I am a girly girl so the bows on these shoes immediately got my attention.

Blue Suede Shoes

Dress: H&M
Shoes: Michael Kors (old, but love these)
Bag: Jesslyn Blake
Brass Cuff: Asos (no longer available, similar here)

Blue suede shoes are not usually at the top of everyones wish list but they ought to be; they are so unique and fun! When I found these Michael Kors a while back and I could not resist; they are extremely comfortable and the shade of blue is just perfect... they could pass for light denim.
